You got your penny, your nickel, your dime, quarter and loonie. But why isn't the two dollar coin spelled with a "two" at the beginning? I've been spelling it toonie. Have I been wrong all this time?Don't think so.
CBC and The Globe and Mail call it a Toonie.They are two great authourities on spelling.I think it is meant to follow the spelling of Loonie.
Yeah, it's toonie. Comes up on spellcheck though, which is annoying.
Maybe should could start a national campaign to call it the "Bearie" or perhaps the "Polarie"? or would that confuse too many snowmobile owners?
