Sketch 22 Sketch

We've been writing and writing and writing sketches for the upcoming season of Sketch22.  Today was the day where we culled some of the less popular sketches from our "big pile of new sketches" and gave approval to those that we think are "show worthy".  After going through them all, we discovered we were left with 22 sketches that we gave thumbs up to.

That's cool.  I'm not sure how long many of the sketches will end up being, but it's pretty safe to say that we won't be able to put all 22 sketches into the show.  So, now comes the more difficult part of the year where we have to start nixing some of the sketches that we like.  It's like murdering babies.

Outline each sketch, then put them on the web to be slaughtered Idol style through a popular vote on each sketch. Rank idea, but then no blood on your hands. Use email to keep the voting legitimate. Do it.
Letting your audience in at this level strengthens your fanbase, open the door, let us cull your embryonic sketches.

Sketch 22 isn't a reality based show although it might be a good idea to spoof one in the show. I would keep the killed baby skits handy for next years potentials. Who's the best organized of your lot who could keep them safely filed?

Sorry, Ken, but the last thing I want to be involved in is a sketch comedy show that is created by popular vote. Too many cooks would ruin that stew, I'm afraid. I'd rather live or die by the creations the group cooks up ourselves.

Coming next summer. Dead Babies: The Worst of Sketch-22. Free pablum for every 20th customer. I can just imagine the poster.

I was hoping for a sneak peek and was curious how the voting would go. Long live the good sketches!
